The Royal Trek is one of the famous trekking trail and also the shortest treks that offer you a wonder picture of Nepal’s natural and cultural diversity. It follows a shrub like path north of the Pokhara valley along the foothills of Annapurna. The name Royal Trek has been given to this short trek as Britain’s Prince Charles along with his group members in the early eighties had explored this route. If you are looking to explore and experience meaningful journey to know the culture and a diverse mix of people that inhabit this region then this trek is the best option for you.
You will begin the Royal trek after you arrive at Kathmandu. We will visit various cultural sites in Kathmandu first where you will get to see different forms of medieval arts and architecture and learn about the culture, tradition and religion of Kathmandu. Then we will head to Pokhara the natural hub-spot of Nepal passing through beautiful Gurung villages while at the same time enjoying the scenic views of the fertile hillside rice terraces, the majestic Annapurna range, Mount Machapuchhre also known as the Fishtail Mountain and the Langtang mountain range. Then the trip will come to an end at the famous Begnas Lake located about 30 km west of Pokhara City.

Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon our arrival in the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by one of our representative who will drop you off at a hotel. You can take some time to freshen up and the go for a stroll in the streets of Thamel on of the major a tourist hub in Kathmandu. In the evening, we will be hosting a welcome dinner where you can enjoy authentic Nepalese cuisine introducing you to the country’s food culture.
We will begin our day early and after taking breakfast we will head out for the sightseeing of Kathmandu valley. We will visit several historic places that have been listed at the UNESCO world heritage sites that include the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square, the old palace of the Kings of the valley. Then we will visit the revered Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath which is one of the most visited pilgrimage sites. Then we will head towards the famous Swayambhunath Temple situated atop a hill and famously known as the ’Monkey Temple’ owing to the overwhelming number of resident monkeys in the area. Then we will head towards Boudhanath stupa one of the famous Buddhists shrine which is also one of the largest Stupas in the world.
Drive Pokhara (6-7 hrs)
On this day we will take an early bus to Pokhara that is about 6-7 hours drive from Kathmandu. During the journey you will get to see amazing views of green mountains and road side villages alongside the serpentine green river that will accompany us throughout the journey. While entering Pokhara we will be welcomed by the beautiful Mount Machhapuchre and you can enjoy the panoramic views of Mount Dhaulagiri, Mount Manaslu, and the five peaks of Annapurna mountain range among others others. Pokhara is also famous for being home to numerous lakes, hence the name lake city. You can enjoy boating at the Fewa lake and visit the Taal Barahi temple located in the middle of the lake.
Trek to Kalikasthan
On the fourth day we will head towards Kalikasthan. First we will drive to Bijayapur Khola after having our breakfast. Then we will begin our official trek as we walk for about an hour through lush paddy fields crossing rivers. We will have our lunch on the way and continue on the trail that starts to ascend further until we reach Kalikasthan. We will take some rest after arriving at our day’s destination then we can explore the surrounding areas.
Trek to Syaklung (5-6 hrs)
We will beging our day early and after having our breakfast we will begin hiking through the small ethnic villages. Also we will be trekking along mountain ridges that offer marvelous views of the Annapurna mountain range and the Lamjung Himal. During the trek we will explore and interact with people from different villages and walk past lush rhododendron forests to reach Syaklung.
Trek to Chisapani (5-6 hrs)
On this day we will leave Syaklung and head for Chisapani. We will come across several Gurung villages where we can learn and observe the lifestyle and culture of local people. Then we will head into a forest trail and will be accompanied by beautiful rhododendron and Sal trees. Then we will arrive at Chisapani by not before passing through a steep descent that falls on half way through the walk then another ascend will take us to our destination from where you can see the best view of the magnificent Himalaya stretch including Mount Dhaulagiri to the west of the range of Annapurna.
Trek back to Pokhara
Today we will begin our trek by hiking downhill to reach Rupatal. Then we will ascend some 200 meters and reach Sundare Danda which is a beautiful hill surrounded by lush green vegetation and home to various bird species. Then we will hike for another 15 minutes to reach Begnas Tal. Here we will take some time off and enjoy an hour long boating. We will then take a ride back to Pokhara where you can rest and later on explore the Lake side area.
Drive to Kathmandu (6-7 hrs)
We will get up early and take a tourist bus ride to Kathmandu as we pass through scenic countryside. After arriving in Kathmandu you can take rest or go out for shopping or explore nearby sights you missed during your first day in Kathmandu.
This is the final day of the trek. One of our representatives will drop you off at the airport from where you will head back home or to your next destination. Thank you for choosing us as your trek partner. We hope to see you again. Good bye!!!
