With the pretext that this biking experience will also be a challenging one, the Kathmandu valley offers some great mountain biking trails. The major attraction of this biking journey is that we will be travelling along little-used dirt roads far away from the daily hustle and bustle of the Capital city. Surrounded by delightful world of wooded slopes, ethnic small villages and ways to some unseen temples and the panoramic views of the majestic Himalayas that includes Mount Makalu to the mountain range of Annapurna, this tour will be one that we recommend to adventure seekers who have a hobby of riding mountain bikes.
This nine day trip has been categorized to easy to semi – technical bike ride that goes through single track jeep roads. The Kathmandu valley rim biking will let you experience all of the culture, lifestyle, traditions, and the views and sounds that is unique to the mid-hills of Nepal. During this tour we will be visiting the culturally and historically rich cities of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Patan where we will be able to see the ancient arts and architecture of the Malla period. Then we will head towards the hill town of Nagarkot that is famous for the sunrise and scenic views of the Himalayas alongside blissful monasteries and exotic villages passing through the forests along the way.

Arrival in Kathmandu
After your arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu one of our representatives will welcome you and transfer you to a hotel. You can then take some rest and we will meet in the evening for a short briefing. We will then have a welcome dinner at the night. Stay overnight at the hotel.
We will begin this day early as we will have a few places to cover on the day. We will have a pre-trip meeting then leave the hotel premises after taking our breakfast. We begin the trip of the vibrant Capital city on a private vehicle with a professional tour guide. First we will head to the famous Buddhist Stupa Swayambhunath also known as the ‘Monkey Temple’ owing to an overwhelming population of monkeys around the temple premises. From here you can view a panoramic picture of the Kathmandu valley and views of mountains too if the weather is clear. Then we head to the revered site of Pashupatinath Temple, of the Hindu deity Lord Shiva. Pashupatinath is one of the famous pilgrimage sites for Hindus from the Indian Sub-continent. Then we head towards Patan Durbar Square that boasts one of the most glorious traditional Nepalese arts and architecture and is home to century’s old temples and palaces.
Ride to Nagarkot
Our bike tour begins formally on this day. We will rise early and mount our bikes after breakfast and head towards the hill town of Nagarkot. While on the way we will also visit the famous Bhaktapur Durbar Square that is known for its ancient crafts and its seclusion from the hustle and bustle of the town area makes it a place to visit. We will visit the golden gate, the Nyatapol Temple (5-storied temple) and the 55-windowed palace there. We will continue an uphill ride to Nagarkot as we pass through beautiful hill site vegetation and farming lands on a road surrounded by forests. After reaching Nagarkot you will be introduced to a splendid view of sunset.
Ride from Nagarkot to Namobuddha
On this day we will rise early and head towards the viewing tower in Nagarkot from where we will view the early morning sunrise from the backdrop of the Himalayas. Then we will come for breakfast and head towards Namobuddha which is a downhill off-road track. We will also be passing through blacktopped highway along the journey and the main attraction of today’s ride will be that you will be able to see the lifestyle of the Tamang people and their villages. We will reach Dhulikhel and head further on an offroad unused jeep road to reach Namobuddha which a beautiful popular monastery tucked away on a ridge. Upon reaching Namobuddha you can explore the monastery area and learn more about the Buddhist religion and culture from the monks.
Ride to Balthali
On this day we will head towards Balthali and the journey is an amazing one as you will continue biking through lush green cultivated fields and orchards. On our way we will have a picnic lunch alongside the magnificent view of the mountains while at the same time enjoying the charms of the countryside life there. Continuing from the lunch spot we will be passing through beautiful small villages alongside terraced fields on a dirt road with the striking scenic views to reach Balthali.
Ride to Panauti via Khopasi
On this day we will get up early and view the sunrise and return back to hotel for breakfast. Then we will gradually paddle downhill, cross a suspension bridge over a Koshi River and head towards Khopasi. Then we head forward to the Newari town of Panauti known for its rich cultural heritage and naturally gifted hills.
Back to Kathmandu
On this day we will return back to Kathmandu. But before that we will explore Panauti and meet with the local people and learn about their life style. Then it is time to leave the historic and cultural Newari village after having a delicious meal back at the hotel. Then we will continue our ride back to Kathmandu.
Visit to Kathmandu Durbar square and leisure day
On the eighth day of our trip we will first visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you will get to see the famous old palace of the kings and their fondness for arts and crafts. We will also visit the Durbar Square Museum and get to know the history of Nepal better. Then we will come back to the hotel and the rest of the day is a free day for you. You can rest or stroll around the city and shop for souvenirs. In the evening we will host a farewell dinner and the tuck in for the final day.
This is your last day with us. One of our representatives will drop you off at the airport from where you will go back home or to the next travel destination of your choice. We are very grateful to you for choosing us as your trip partner. Farewell!!!
