The Around Dhaulagiri trek begins after your arrival at Kathmandu and a drive to Beni from where the formal trek begins for 23 days. We will be crossing cultivated fields, forests and Gurung, Chhetri, and Magar villages to reach the Italian base camp. The camp hosts a wide view of the majestic Dhaulagiri mountain range. Likewise we will also be taking rest at various places for few days to acclimatize ourselves with the change of altitude and head towards Dhaulagiri Base camp.
During the trek we will be able to see some wildlife that is unique to the region, it includes– semi-wild yak herds, the elusive snow leopard Himalayan Thar, Red panda, Musk deer, different species of birds and mountain sheep among others. Other attraction of this trek is the exotic villages and the hidden valleys that is sure to give you and everlasting memory of the picturesque landscape of Nepal.   1. Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu

    Our representative will be there at the Tribhuvan International Airport to pick you up and transfer to your desired hotel. After you freshen up and take some rest we will invite you to our office where you will be briefed about the trek. We will also hold a brief meeting with our travel guides. In the evening we will take part in a welcome dinner and then you can take some rest before we begin the tour. Stay overnight at hotel.

  2. Day 2 Kathmandu sightseeing tour

    On the next day, we will be touring various heritage sites and cultural sites of the beautiful Kathmandu city. We will leave our hotel after taking our breakfast and head towards the Pashupatinath Temple, a center of pilgrimage for Hindu devotees then we will head towards the famous Swyambhunath stupa also known as the monkey temple. Later on we will tour the famous Boudhanath stupa the head towards the Kathmandu Durbar Square, the old palace of the kings. There you can get a glimpse of Nepalese art and architecture and get to learn about the humble beginnings of the Capital city. All of these sites are essentially enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage sites. While returning back you can explore the local markets and lifestyle.

  3. Day 3 Flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu then drive to Beni (850m)

    This day we will fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara in an early morning flight. We will leave the hotel after having breakfast and reach the Kathmandu Domestic Airport and take a 25 minute flight to Pokhara. Though it is a short flight we will be able to see the majestic views of Mount Manaslu, the snowcapped Annapurna range and the Mountain range of Langtang. Upon reaching Pokhara we will take a jeep drive to Beni while enjoying the views of the Annapurna range. The beautiful town of Beni is situated on a plateau above the Kali Gandaki & Myagdi rivers.

  4. Day 4 Trek to Babiyachaur (990m) 6-7 hours

    Our formal trekking will begin from Beni. We will start early after breakfast and hike along the Kali Gandaki River and continue along the road that passes through green rice fields with various species of birds and butterflies hovering above it. We will pass by Mangalghat village, Singa village and Tatopani and cross Tara khet. After a short ascend over a small ridge we will reach Babiyachaur.

  5. Day 5 Trek to Dharapani (1565m): 6-7 hours

    Trekking to Dharapani will be a union of nature and its bliss as our trails will cross terraced hills of the Shahashadhara village, Dudh khola and Ratorunga village. We will be hiking along the river banks at Phedi also known for being a picnic spot and the cross the Danyga khola on a big suspension bridge to reach Dharapani. Today’s destination offers marvelous views of the Dhaulagiri IV & V and Mount Gurja.

  6. Day 6 Trek to Muri (1850m) 6-7 hours

    On this day we will head towards Muri from Dharapani. The trail is a uphill hike and we will be passing some steep sections on this day. Nevertheless we will be accompanied by the beautiful natural surroundings throughout the day and green trail paths covered with forests on the either side of the route will be enough for our body to forget the hectic path. At Muri you can gaze upon the spectacular views of Mount Dhaulagiri among other mountain ranges very closely.

  7. Day 7 Trek to Boghara (2080m) 7-8 hours

    Compared to the trek from the earlier day today’s trek from Muri to Boghara is an easy one. We will first descend downhill passing by forest trails for a few hours while viewing different flora and fauna that tha region has to offer. Then later in the trek we will ascend uphill to reach Boghara.

  8. Day 8 Trek to Dovan (2540m) 6-7 hours

    On this day we will head towards Dovan and start the trek early morning. We will hike on a forest trail to reach Jyardan. Then we will walk downhill along a long and steep slippery staircase made up of stone. This path will lead us deep into a bamboo and rhododendron forest from where we will reach the village of Dovan. Overnight stay at the guest house.

  9. Day 9 Trek to Italian Base Camp (3800m) 6-7 hours

    On this day we will head for Italian Base Camp that is located at Upper Vungini. We will be passing beautiful forest trail that will offer us a wide range of wildlife and floras. We can also encounter semi-wild yak herds and mountain sheep during the journey. Alongside this we will have a panoramic view of mountains. We will reach the Italian Base Camp and set up camp just in front of the west side of Mount Dhaulagiri.

  10. Day 10 Acclimatization day (3800m)

    On this day we will take rest to acclimatize ourselves to the environment. We are gaining altitude rapidly and our body can hold on only for such time before it gives up. SO it is really necessary to let our body adapt to the new surroundings. But we will utilize this day to take short hikes in the vicinity and keep ourselves hydrated and take it easy for the rest of the day.

  11. Day 11 Trek to Glacier Camp (4,250m) 5-6 hours

    The trek on this day is a bit tricky and we will need to follow the instructions given to us by our guides very closely as we will be hiking on the glacier. We will also be using the ropes to cross the glaciers on this day and the briefing given earlier will come to be a reality when we perform the trek. Patience is the key and listening to the advice of our guide will help us complete the day’s trek. After crossing the glacier we will set our camp for the night.

  12. Day 12 Trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp I (4750 m) 4-5 hours

    Mount Dhaulagiri will be accompanying us throughout today’s trek. This trek will be rough one in terms of the unforgiving trails and also the freezing temperature in which we will have to endure for over five hours. Nevertheless we will get to enjoy the majestic face of Dhaulagiri I until we reach Dhaulagiri Base Camp.

  13. Day 13 Trek to French Col and Hidden Valley 6-7 hours

    This is also another tough trek of our journey. We will be using our rope skills on this day to get off the glacier above the base camp. However, once we get past the steep icy walls we will be in a safer & gentler country. We will then ascend towards the famous French Col located at 5300 meters from where we can see the Hidden Valley with temperatures dropping down to -20C.

  14. Day 14 Hidden Valley camp (5000m)

    We will rest for a day in the Hidden Valley camp. We can explore the nearby surroundings by taking short hikes in the area. The place offers you a wide range of majestic peaks and we bet that this place will be like no other as it is bound to give everyone a taste of a white heaven right here on earth.

  15. Day 15 Trek to Yak Kharka (4400m) 6-7 hours

    On this day we will descend towards Yak Kharka. Early in our journey we will climb towards the Dhampus Pass that is located at the height of 5200 meters between Tukuche peak and Thapa peak. We will walk past avalanche prone traverse then slopes descend steeply to Yak Kharka.

  16. Day 16 Trek to Marpha (2665m) 6 hours

    We will leave behind the untouched natural landscape to head towards Marpha. On this day we will descend along the ridge of the lush green hills to once again reach civilization. The town of Marpha is the homeplace of the ethnic group Thakali and the place has preserved traditional narrow paved alleyways. We can take a stroll after reaching Marpha and learn more about the local people and their culture.

  17. Day 17 Trek to Ghasa (2000m) 6-7 hours

    On this day we will hike along the banks of Kaligandaki River. The trail passes through a narrow gorge which we reach after passing through traditional Thakali villages. We will also be visiting the red-roofed Taglung Gompa situated on a hillside beside a huge sacred tree. Ghasa village in the region is an ecological and cultural hub and here we can learn more about the tradition and lifestyle of the ethnic people.

  18. Day 18 Trek to Tatopani (1180m) 4-5 hours

    We will continue our trek and head towards Tatopani on this day. It will be an easy hike where we will be accompanied by Kaligandaki river. We will then enter into subtropical area where we will find the change in vegetation and climate. We will also be crossing various suspension bridges and reach our destination of the day known for its hot springs.

  19. Day 19 Trek to Ghorepani (2775m) 6-7 hours

    During the trek on this day, the hiking trail passes through dense moss-covered rhododendron forest with rich bird life and mind you that the path is steep. Further down we will come across some local villages while we hike alongside the Ghaja Khola. Then we ascend uphill with the same landscape being with us the whole time to reach Ghorepani from where we can view the sunrise unobstructed.

  20. Day 20 Trek to Hille (1495m) 4 hours

    We will not miss the sunrise so we will head early to Poonhill famous for the unobstructed view of sunrise over the high Himalayas. From Poonhill we will be able to see spectacular views of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Mount Nilgiri (6940m) and the south face of the mighty Annapurna along with several other attractive peaks. Then, we will head downward to Ghorepani and afterwards to Hille.

  21. Day 21 From Hille to Pokhara (3 hours trek and 1 hour drive)

    Spending a tranquil night at Hille we will pack our baggage and head towards Pokhara, passing through the trail of Birethanti. On the way we will get to enjoy the forest covered in bamboo and waterfalls. Taking some rest we will take drive from Nayapul, covering about an hours of drive we will finally be at the city of lake.

  22. Day 22 Pokhara to Kathmandu, take a 25 minutes flight or 6-7 hour drive.

    Collecting a beautiful memories at Pokhara on this day we will return to Kathmandu via the Prithivi Highway or take a flight as per your preference. Upon your arrival in Kathmandu you will drive to the hotel where you will take some rest and in the evening we will take part in cultural program and farewell program.

  23. Day 23 Final Departure

    This is the day to departure after accomplishing extensive days of trekking Around Dhaulagiri. Our team representative will take you towards the airport from where you will head towards your next destination or will return your home.
